Abstract
ALL national and local inquiries into the condition of the agricultural industry have emphasized the lack of comprehensive and specific data which might be of use in the planning of large-scale remedial measures. Wales is indeed fortunate in having two important surveys in progress-one, a rapid botanical survey of its grass lands by Prof. R. G. Stapledon of Aberyst-wyth, the other a soil survey by Prof. G. W. Robinson of Bangor.
