Abstract
DR. C. T. LANE has published in NATURE1 observations which seemingly contradict previous results on the subject of the size dependence of the susceptibilities of bismuth, antimony, and graphite obtained by different observers working under Sir C. V. Raman at Calcutta2,3. Since we undertook a series of experiments on the same subject some time ago which, however, are not yet ready for detailed publication, but support definitely the findings of the latter authors, the following short note may explain the discrepancy of the results of Dr. Lane.
