Abstract
IT will be gathered from the sub-title of this book that the method of approach is anthropological rather than theological. The authors of these essays, originally delivered as public lectures in the Universities of Oxford and London, are neither ‘fundamentalists’ nor members of any school of Higher Criticism, at least in so far as their contributions to this volume are concerned.
