THE Kelvin lecture delivered before the Institution of Electrical Engineers by Dr. G. C. Simpson, Director of the Meteorological Office, which appears in slightly abridged form as a Supplement to this issue, will be read with interest. The valuable work Dr. Simpson has done in investigating the phenomena of lightning discharge makes everything he says worth careful consideration.
