Abstract
MR. ADOLPH SUTRO, well known as the builder of the famous Sutro tunnel on the Comstock lode in Nevada, and now Mayor of San Francisco, has just offered the State University Regents thirteen acres of land within the city limits, on which to erect buildings for the affiliated colleges of the University. In addition to this, he will deed to the Trustee of the city thirteen acres adjoining, as a site for the Sutro library of over 200,000 volumes. The gift is valued at £300,000, and will be worth £400,000 when the contemplated improvements are made.
