Dog tumours have common roots

Canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT), which is passed on during mating, has remarkable genetic uniformity across continents, with a common ancestor that dates back to roughly 460 years ago. Dogs are one of only two species known to suffer from infectious tumours.
