Research Pathologist, Cancer Prevention - Postdoctoral Fellowship

Description

The Department of Pathology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) seeks applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in its Division of Pathology Research.

This new Division has been designed to integrate population and laboratory science, with a strong emphasis on cancer prevention. Ongoing projects focus on development and validation of tissue-based biomarkers in cancer prevention research, and on chemoprevention trials. Digital image analysis is a major priority; prior experience or relevant training preferable. Cancer sites of interest currently include prostate, liver and breast.

Candidates must have an M.D. or equivalent and completed residency training in surgical pathology. Successful candidate will join an energetic multi-disciplinary team that includes other physicians, biostatisticians, computer specialists and bioengineers. Excellent opportunities for independent research, publication, and academic advancement; new laboratory facilities.

Excellent benefits; salary commensurate with experience. UIC is located three miles west of dynamic downtown Chicago in the Illinois Medical District, which includes two medical schools, five health science colleges, and several hospitals.
