Professor Positions in RNA Biology and Molecular Parasitology / Host-Pathogen Interactions at the Institute of Cell Biology University of Bern, Switzerland

The Institute of Cell Biology at the University of Bern, Switzerland (http://www.izb.unibe.ch), invites applications for two positions, one in RNA Biology and one in the area of Molecular Parasitology / Host-Pathogen Interactions. Candidates are expected to raise external funds. The successful applicants will be provided with ample research space, a start-up package and significant institutional funding support. We are open to different model systems; but space for animal care facility is limited. We anticipate that these positions will be filled at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level or at the Full Professor level.

The successful candidates will participate in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Applicants possessing a Ph. D. degree and postdoctoral experience that resulted in significant research publications will be considered for an Assistant Professor position, applicants with these qualifications and additionally demonstrated qualifications as group leaders will be considered for the Full Professor position. One position will become available in Feb. 2010, one in Feb. 2011 (earlier start is negotiable). Persons wishing to be considered for these positions should forward their curriculum vitae, statement of research interests and acquisition of extramural funding, statement of teaching interests, and copies of 3 – 5 major publications (depending on the level of the position) to:
