Walter J. Hogan
Dr. Hogan has been involved with teaching, patient care and clinical research at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) for more than 40 years. A significant portion of his interest has centered on investigating the physiology and pathophysiology of esophageal motor function and the mechanisms associated with gastroesophageal reflux. Dr Hogan is current Director of the MCW Dysphagia Center and involved clinically in endoscopic pH monitoring and manometric studies of esophageal diseases. A particular interest is eosinophilic esophagitis — an allergic inflammatory expression involving the esophagus. Dr Hogan is past president of both the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has authored over 200 publications and 20 chapters on GI disorders.
