Should acrylic dentures be embedded with a radiopaque marker?

We report a case that raises an important question relating to acrylic dentures.

A 73-year-old patient attended the emergency department having reportedly ingested their artificial tooth. They presented with dysphagia, reduced oral intake and a sensation of having something stuck in the throat. Plain film radiographs showed no abnormal findings and they were discharged.
