Family-run Scottish Dental Care has announced plans to add up to 2,000 patients in one of its recently acquired clinics as it completes work on building a third surgery room at Barrhead Dental Clinic in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire.

It will take Barrhead Dental Clinic's patient capacity to around 5,000 as the expansion is set to take on an additional 1,500-2,000 NHS and private patients.

The new surgery means the practice will be looking to recruit a new dentist and a dental hygienist.

Co-Founder and Director of M&A at Scottish Dental Care, Christoper Friel, said: ‘This will help attract more patients seeking NHS and private dental care in the area, while also providing new opportunities for professionals looking for a role at a thriving practice.

‘It is our responsibility as a dental group to ensure all of our clinics are to a high operating standard to meet the needs of our patients and staff.

‘We hope the expansion of Barrhead Dental Clinic is an example of our commitment to the local area, and to developing dentistry in Scotland.'

Construction at the clinic was due to be completed in March.
