EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR PAEDIATRIC HAEMATOLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY (ESPHI) ANNOUNCEMENT

The Editors are pleased to announce that the European Society for Paediatric Haematology and Immunology (ESPHI) has adopted Pediatric Research as its official journal. Through a series of productive discussions between ESPHI and the three societies that have traditionally supported this journal, the American Pediatric Society (APS), Society for Pediatric Research (SPR), and European Society for Paediatric Research (ESPR) we have arranged for ESPHI to have the same responsibilities and benefits as is accorded to the other journal societies. In North America most of the academic pediatricians are members of the APS or the SPR. However, in Europe, there are a number of smaller organizations that represent subspecialities, whose members are not neccesarily affiliated with the ESPR. We hope that Pediatric Research will provide a valuable resource for the members of ESPHI and a potential forum for their research, just as it serves members of APS, SPR, and ESPR. We also hope that this official affiliation with ESPHI, and possibly other subspecialty societies in the future, will serve as an opportunity to broaden the scope of Pediatric Research and enhance research interactions among investigators in various related disciplines of pediatrics. We welcome our colleagues in ESPHI.

George Lister; Editor-in-Chief
