Anomalous propagation of seismic waves through the zone of shearing contact between converging plates of the New Hebrides arc

Abstract

Results obtained from a network of five short-period seismograph stations operated for 2 months on the island of Santo in the central region of the New Hebrides provide evidence for the anomalous propagation of seismic waves through the zone of shearing contact between the converging plates of the New Hebrides Island Arc.
