Structure and evolution of the Moon

Abstract

The scientific investigation of the samples returned by the Apollo and Luna missions, together with geophysical and photogeological data, has provided a reasonably complete understanding of the structure, composition and evolution of the Moon, and has placed many constraints on theories of its origin.
