April, traditionally an auspicious month for Soviet scientists with the announcement of the Lenin Prizes, has this year brought an ominous picture for those out of favour with the establishment: two dissident scientists on trial, continuing harassment and repression of refusniks, and Academician Andrei Sakharov briefly held with his wife in police custody.
