Abstract
ROZENTAL and Norris1 found evidence of a chemosensory mechanism of olfaction and gustation in the cockroach Periplaneta americana that involves the formation of disulphide bonds. I wish to report that olfactory transduction in silk moths does not seem to involve disulphide links, although sulphydryl and amino groups are important.
