Follicle Stimulating Hormone Releasing Activity in Hypophysial Portal Blood and Elevation by Dopamine

Abstract

FSH-releasing activity, which has been attributed to an FSH-releasing factor (FRF), has been found in hypothalamic tissue1–5. It has been assumed that FRF reaches the anterior pituitary through the portal vessels of the hypophysial stalk, but this has not yet been observed in the blood of the portal vessels.
