Abstract
THE genetic material of turnip yellow mosaic virus (TYMV) comprises RNA of molecular weight approximately 2 × 106, and of sedimentation constant close to 25S. In the presence of cell-free extracts and ATP, this RNA can interact with one amino-acid, valine, which becomes attached to its terminal nucleoside, an adenosine residue, by an ester linkage.
