Abstract
A HIGH incidence of a high voltage electrophoretic band which is visualized with ninhydrin was noticed in the urine of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis during a study of the excretion of β-aminoisobutyric acid by patients with various pathological conditions. The mobility of the band was identical to that of β-alanine, and the identity was confirmed by paper chromatography and isolation.
