Abstract
MYELINATION is not a sudden event but rather the gradual assembly of various chemical components which appear at the same or different times to form mature myelin. Electron microscopy has shown the gradual morphological development which occurs during myelination1,2. The purpose of this study was to inquire into some aspects of the chemical development of myelination of the corpus callosum of the rat, with the use of reliable histochemical techniques.
