Tissue Typing in Man

Abstract

Human lymphocytes which, are essentially free from other cells have been prepared from peripheral blood. Storage for long periods at −196° C is possible without serious loss in viability. Labelling with chromium-51 enables such cells to be used in a precise serological assay with human isoantisera and rabbit complement. The procedure may well prove useful in typing human tissues.
