Abstract
FEW observations have been reported on the ultrastructure of synapses between nerve fibres and the perikarya of neurosecretory cells. Electron microscope observations on synapses on perikarya and on branches of neurosecretory cells of the pre-optic nucleus in teleosts—perch and trout—have been published1,2, and recently short preliminary reports on the ultrastructure of synapses on cells of the supra-optic nucleus of white mice3 and rats4 have appeared. Further details of synapses on the neurosecretory cells of the supra-optic nucleus of white mice are reported here.
