Abstract
DIHYDRODIOLS have been reported as metabolites of cyclic hydrocarbons after the administration of these compounds to animals. trans-Dihydrodiols have been isolated from the urine of animals after the separate administration of cyclohexane1, naphthalene2, anthracene3 and phenanthrene4,5. Both cis- and trans-dihydrodiols have been isolated from the urine of animals to which indene6 and acenaphthylene7 had been separately administered. Dihydrodiols do not appear to have been previously reported as metabolites of cyclic ketones.
