Protection against Iron Toxicity in Vitamin E-deficient Piglets and Mice by Vitamin E and Synthetic Antioxidants

Abstract

APPARENTLY healthy piglets in sporadic litters may fall ill and die suddenly after having been treated with conventional doses of an iron preparation for prevention of anæmia. Until recently the cause of this hypersensitivity was unknown.
