Production of 6-Aminopenicillanic Acid by Dermatophytes

Abstract

FOLLOWING the isolation of 6-aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA) by Batchelor et al.1,2, a number of papers dealing with its formation both by fermentation and by microbial hydrolysis have been published3. Cole and Rolinson4 recently reported on production of 6-APA by certain species of Cephalosporium and Emericellopsis.
