Abstract
THERE has recently been a considerable amount of discussion and speculation1 as to the possible effects on a polymer from polymerization in a relatively strong electric field. The possibility of using this technique to yield polymers which would have unusual physical and/or electrical properties has been considered. Presented in this communication are the results obtained during an investigation of the polymerization of a thermosetting polymer in constant electric fields of various strengths.
