Internal Friction of Glass under High Strain

Abstract

IT is now known that, if proper care is taken over surface treatment, specimens of certain types of glass can be made which will withstand a strain of at least 5 per cent without failure. It is of interest to investigate whether any of the physical properties of glass change when it is subjected to these high values of strain.
