Abstract
WHILE the cerebrospinal fluid from healthy persons has a relatively poor protein pattern, the number of demonstrable protein fractions may be high in patients with neurological or some mental diseases. More than 30 different proteins can thus be demonstrated in the cerebrospinal fluid by micro-immuno-electrophoretic technique1. All these proteins were identified with anti-human serum during the precipitation phase of the immuno-electrophoresis. These proteins are therefore of plasma origin or at least immunologically identical with plasma proteins.
