Abstract
As revealed by manometrical determinations, intensive acetylcholinesterase activity occurs in heart muscle1. Histochemical investigations carried out with the naphthyl acetate and the indoxylacetate methods rendered visible enzymatic activity of the myocardium in a diffuse or granular form, without any cytological localization2. On the other hand, investigations performed with the thiocholine method3 demonstrated enzymatic activity of the conductive tissue only, but no activity in the working muscle. The object of the present investigations was to settle this problem.
