Abstract
IN a previous article1, it was pointed out, on the basis of the analysis of a great number of plants, that only in South American Strychnos quaternary curarizing alkaloids were present. No other alkaloid with strychnine-like activity was found in those plants. African and Asian species of Strychnos so far examined yield only tertiary alkaloids, and some species strychnine and related alkaloids.
