Abstract
AMYLOBARBITONE (5-ethyl-5-(3-methylbutyl) barbituric acid) fed to dogs in doses of 45 mgm. per kgm. has been shown to produce 5-ethyl-5-(3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl) barbituric acid as the main metabolite, about 67 per cent of the original dose being excreted in this form1.
