Abstract
IN the preparation of fluorescent antibodies the excess dye is generally removed by dialysis for 5–6 days (ref. 1). In order to avoid a time-consuming dialysis and to decrease the risk of destroying antibody activity we have used gel-filtration2 in the preparation of a number of fluorescent antibodies, the titres of which were afterwards compared with those of dialysed samples. A preliminary report of the method has already been published3.
