Abstract
To gain an impression of the development of the hormones produced by the ovary in the liver of Iguana iguana in 30 castrated and 30 mature females a liver lesion was effected by means of the carbon tetrachloride method of Kaufmann. Afterwards the animals were observed for 70 days, the deaths occurring during this period being recorded. Just as in the rat1,2, deaths began immediately in the mature group, most animals succumbing in the third week.
