Abstract
LOW levels of dietary magnesium precipitate hypomagnesæmia experimentally in lambs1. It is not known whether these findings are related to the hypomagnesæmia which occurs spontaneously in adult ruminants near parturition in autumn and spring on some pastures. The present communication reports an attempt to produce hypomagnesæmia in sheep, but with a different type of roughage-containing diet.
