Abstract
DURING a study of the influence of diet on adenosine nucleotide metabolism in the liver of the rat, we have observed that the concentration of adenosine triphosphate in the livers of well-fed animals falls rapidly when they are given a meal of protein. This change is associated with a reduction in liver glycogen content.
