Histochemical Localization of Oxidase Activity in the Mitochondria of the Human Heart

Abstract

A REVIEW of the literature has failed to reveal any definitive histochemical localization of oxidase activity in cardiac as well as skeletal muscle. Recently, several new oxidase techniques have been reported which are capable of precise localizations at the cytochemical level1,2.
