Conduction Currents in Liquid n-Hexane under Microsecond Pulse Conditions

Abstract

IN recent years, considerable progress has been made in the measurement of electric breakdown strengths in the liquid phase through the use of rectangular pulse techniques1,2,3, and such methods of measurement are now widely used. On the other hand, measurements of conduction currents have continued to rely upon d.c.2,4, presumably because of the experimental difficulties inherent in making reliable measurements of currents under short-pulse conditions.
