Abstract
CHIMAKADZE1,2 has published an interesting report on the treatment with histidine of rabbits fed with cholesterol. He claimed that daily administration of 80 mgm. of histidine for 20 days lowered the serum cholesterol-levels by 1,000–1,300 mgm. per cent and markedly diminished the deposition of aortic lipids. In view of the potential importance of these claims we decided to repeat and extend the experiment.
