Abstract
IT has been shown1 that the fumigation of maize grain with a 1 : 1 mixture of ethylene dichloride and carbon tetrachloride adversely affects the growth of seedlings raised from the grain. Similar results have now been obtained from a study of the early growth of cowpeas raised from fumigated seed.
