Abstract
AS a contribution to the International Geophysical Year, a group composed of Canadian, American and British oil interests and independent geophysical contractors has recently carried out a large-scale seismic refraction experiment in order to measure the thickness of the Earth's crust, or depth to the Mohorovičić discontinuity, in the Albertan Plains of western Canada.
