Abstract
PAST experiments have shown that acquired resistance in Plasmodia to antimalarials can be developed easily and in a short time in certain groups of compounds. Per contra, such resistance to some other groups of anti-malarials can be built up either with difficulty or not at all. Proguanil and pyrimethamine belong to the former group, and it is noted that a Plasmodium made resistant to one becomes resistant also to the other1–3.
