Abstract
THE effect of oxygen on the process of denitrification continues to be a subject of research, and it may, therefore, be of interest to record some observations made in the University of Melbourne with a species of Achromobacter. The organism, which was isolated from soil, reduced nitrite but not nitrate to nitrogen gas.
