Effect of the Percentage of Dry Matter in the Diet on the Dry-Matter Intake in Ruminants

Abstract

IN the course of some experiments with beef cattle, swedes and grass silage were fed, and it was observed that the appetite of the cattle, in terms of daily intake of dry matter, appeared to be inversely proportional to the percentage of moisture in these feeding-stuffs.
