Abstract
THE following notes on the breeding female of the pipefish Nerophis lumbriciformis (Pennant) may be of interest to zoologists. One in breeding dress was taken in the Laminaria zone early in April 1946, at Mahee Island, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. It was in the company of several other females of normal appearance.
