Abstract
THE letter form of composition has many advantages, particularly in describing the day-by-day happenings of a rural, or in this case an island, life. Mr. Lockley has written before of islands, and in particular of his own island of Skokholm off the Pembrokeshire coast of Wales ; but he has by no means exhausted the interest and fascination of the subject, and we are glad he has recast the letters originally addressed to his brother-in-law, John Buxton, when a prisoner-of-war, and made them into a book.
