Origin of Cosmic Ray Stars at Sea-Level

Abstract

In an effort to identify the radiation responsible for production of the nuclear disintegrations and heavy charged particles occurring in the cosmic rays, we have carried out experiments with Ilford ‘Nuclear Research’ emulsions exposed on high mountains, and at sea-level with various absorbing materials. The results may be summarized as follows.
