Abstract
THE physical meaning of every term in the Lorentz transformation is now clear, thanks to the investigations of Einstein. Unfortunately, the general Lorentz transformations usually given as do not possess some of the beautiful properties of the original linear motion transformations owing to the non-group nature under successive velocity transformations and to the non-symmetry with respect to the space-time co-ordinates. I think something should be done about this.
