Abstract
THE Colonial Service is called upon to-day to deal with a hole range of problems that had not been contemplated when a course of training for entrants was first devised in 1924. The administrative officer once concerned mainly with the maintenance of law and order now expected to be the active promoter of all those types of activity that have come to be grouped under the heading ‘Development and Welfare’. A new type of training is called for, more appropriate to these new functions.
