Stage of Determination of Vertebræ in Teleostean Fishes

Abstract

THE question, at what period during ontogeny is the number of vertebrae determined in teleostean fishes, has been asked by several workers studying racial characters in fishes, but without answer owing to lack of adequate experimental work.
