Abstract
BY the death on August 26 of Sir Francis Fremantle, Great Britain loses the services of a man who devoted the greater part of his life to the promotion of the national health. He was born in 1872, a great-great-grandson of one of Nelson's captains, and fourth son of the Hon. William Fremantle, Dean of Ripon. He chose medicine for his future profession while still a King's Scholar at Eton.
